Pinkberry

The Westfield Mall in Stratford is actually pretty nice. I don't really like shopping malls when I'm in a beautiful city but I found my self there one day buying a frozen yogurt at Pinkberry! Guess it's always nice to have everything you need in the same space...

I ordered the salt caramel but without salt. It was just too much for my taste, and I know that I like salt caramel, it was really fun choosing the toppings and the white chocolate shavings were my favorite, alongside with the raspberries, of course. I guess my sister and dad enjoyed their choices, because their cups looked delicious. However, I have to admit, I'm not a fro-yo girl. I do have a sweet tooth, but this just doesn't cut for me. Give me an ice cream any day over Pinkberry. But I must admit that all of the frozen yogurt I've ever tasted, this was actually the best one.

Sick day 2

On my second sick day I wanted something hearty and nice. Like fish. I usually crave homey food and french fries whenever I'm sick. So we went to Simply Fish. In Shoreditch's Box Park. I feel sad for not being with a fresh head to go to Shoreditch's AMAZING places to eat, I didn't even take a look at my long list of cool restaurants to go. I just got in this one without researching, which for me is really bad, because I like to know where I eat. But the flu clouded all my judgement, I didn't care...

I ordered this pan fried seabass with salsa verde, white rice and chips. I wanted to keep it simple on the sauce so I didn't take much of a risk. The fish was really good, and the sauce paired well with it. As for the rice, it was really bland, I didn't like it at all, it was also very mushy. The fries were just normal fries, maybe frozen, by the look of it, but I can't really remember the taste now.

Here's what my sister and my dad ordered. I guess my dad wasn't too happy with his choice either, and I tried some of his lentils and it seemed to me that they also lacked seasoning. Sad.

Sick day 1

On my first sick day I couldn't eat breakfast and told myself I would want something healthy and good. I wanted to go to Itsu so much I tried to convince myself that I was hungry. I ordered two things! Guess I was delusional or something, maybe it was the fever...

I did take a picture of my sushi box and vegetable warm box. I'm sad to say that I couldn't finish the dishes. I can't even describe the flavors because I wasn't myself. I know that the sushi was good and the vegetables were nice, but in my mind I only wanted to go to bed. Having said this, I really want to go back as a healthy person! I feel like I didn't enjoy it as I should. We'll see if I'll go back soon!...

Time out

Feels amazing just to sit down on a Pub after a whole day of walking. I guess that after this I'll be a much more expert on beers!

Let's take it back a bit.

I knew what to expect when I first arrived. A jungle. Everyone wants the same as me. Make it through. I was not alone, fortunately. My dad and my sister were with me. So the first 9 days felt almost like holidays. Those kind of tense holidays when you know you're gonna be alone soon and you're going to survive on your own. Everyone has had one of those, right? Let's face it, with my dad around, all I wanted to do was eat and blog, I did not expect to get this major flu the second day in. That threw me off my game. Then came the pressure of getting a house, no appetite for eating or blogging, then the days started to get shorter and exhausting. All I could do back in the hotel was to send CV's. As many as I can.

I did manage to enjoy the very first day before I got sick. I was a little off my game already, not really hungry. But I had to do this. I had to go to Franco Manca with my dad.

After researching on so many blogs, I chose Brixton's Franco Manca because I got so curious to try their famous pizzas... But still, I didn't get my hopes too high, you know, not to get too let down.

We ordered two No Logo beers, so good and organic. I'm no beer expert, I could say that you didn't get that alchool aftertaste you get with some other beers. I enjoyed it.

And then we ordered two veggie specials. I couldn't resist the specials board and I'm cutting down on my meat intake. And the pizza was amazing. Light dough with a lot of ingredients, perfect pesto and sun dried tomatoes. I believe that after this I'm officially addicted to sun dried tomatoes. Loved every bit about it. Could go without the potatoes, though, I love potato pizza, but it felt a bit nauseating in the middle of all the vegetable goodness (or was it my flu ringing a bell?). Anyways I hope I get to come back and try some more pizzas. I absolutely loved the whole thing. Oh, and the pizzas are cheap!

Not bad for a first post, ha?
