The London Particular

A very bad hangover. No food at home. I want to think that the alcohol consumption does not affect my tastebuds. I can't exactly remember why I felt so drained but the struggle was there. Luckily I have been meaning to go to The London Particular for ages and then I couldn't think more than 1 mile away from my boyfriend's house. The place is literally 3 minutes away. Maximum distance I could drag myself to.

Sitting outside feels good and people watching is always interesting, specially when random children like to creepily wave at you from moving cars.

He went for the "typical" english breakfast, thought it appeared to be a relatively tamed version and less heavy. The verdict was positive (?). Don't think I cared that much given my state.

I went for a hot mess of chorizo, feta and roasted eggs. I got the last one available who was delivered to my table by mistake, leaving the couple next to us hungry and disappointed, unaware that I was eating their food. I didn't even know it and that was the best service mistake I could have ever been a part of. I love chorizo way too much, and basically live on feta, so can't really deny that I knew it was going to be great. Wish I could remember the details after so long (blogging after 3 months is quite an amateur fail). Perfect hangover food, fresh and comfy at the same time, which is not easy. Comfort food that doesn't leave you feeling greasy is my favourite type. The only con was the bread, way to toasted, so crispy that it made it hard to really soak up the sauce, and, sadly, not enough.

I want to come back to The London Particular, even if because is so convenient, but I like the fact that it's simple, well made food with that homemade feeling. Having said this, yes, maybe I could recreate this at home. But the iron pan wouldn't be as cute.
